Havets helte - Veterandykkerne

Havets Helte came to be in collaboration with Veterandykkerne, a local non-profit working ceaselessly to ensure opportunities for individuals with PTSD through diving. It is well known that diving and being underwater can be a calming experience and Veterandykkerne have successfully introduced many veterans to diving.
Sometimes, though, they need a little extra convincing before taking the plunge – for example in VR.

The Challenge

By creating a calm VR-based space, we aim to provide the restorative experience of diving along the coasts of Funen using 3D animation and 360-video, enhancing the therapeutic efforts of Veterandykkerne.
This application needed to simulate a safe and immersive diving environment to prepare users for real diving experiences and serve as a therapeutic tool to stabilize PTSD symptoms.

Project
responsibilities

While leaving workshops and the actual diving to our project partner, our responsibility is everything digital.
Creating a solid, easy user experience, a safe environment and accurate 3D-animation so users can explore these virtual waters, providing a sense of calm and preparation for actual diving.

Project goal

From the beginning of this collaboration, our goal has been to provide an experience worthy of our users. Our hope is that this project underscores the potential of digital technology in addressing mental health challenges and promoting well-being.

We’re excited to keep learning and exploring – if you have an idea for a similar project or you’re interested in Veterandykkerne and their work, please feel free to reach out to us.
