We needed to develop an aesthetically pleasing yet functional system to tell the story in an engaging way – Using videos, NFC-display systems and custom made, professionally printed and freshly painted 3D-models of the three company representatives, Oliver, Mads and Rasmus.
When placed on the integrated chip, their respective video played on screen, telling each person’s story.
We began conducting thorough technical analyses and testing of various materials, assessing video playback capabilities and exploring solutions to lock NFC tags to prevent lagging.
Most of all, our pride and joy were our 3D-models. After individual scans and corrections, our specialist mixed colours to match the character’s clothes, eyes, skin; even the tiny logos printed on their shirts were matched to perfection and painted by hand.
In the end, the models were varnished for a stronger hold – these figures were made to be moved, investigated and played with, after all!
Our collaboration with ErhvervsTanken and our project partners resulted in a robust, interactive NFC-display system that met all technical and aesthetic requirements.
The installation allows visitors to engage with educational content seamlessly, highlighting the journeys of apprentices in the industries of steel and tool manufacturing, so much so that the client’s sponsor, Stålakademiet, asked for a set of figures for themselves as well – we reached 22 different hand painted figures all in all.
We believe more projects like this will shed light on new, cutting edge ways of engaging people in the conversation about green transitions.
