Naturpark Lillebælt - AR Educational Mobile Game
We joined Naturpark Lillebælt again to create a mobile AR app that showcased the diverse marine-life
we have around Lillebælt.
The Challenge
This time, the challenge was to create an AR-application
that included many of the plant- and animal species found in the waters around Lillebælt,
as well as a gamified quiz function that will allow you to collect badges
such as Plant Whizz, Mammal Mate or Fish Master once you completes the quizzes.
The educators at the park wanted gamified, playful visualisations for the classrooms,
especially one utilising AR so the animation of the fish, animal or plant can be displayed directly on the table!
Realistic 3D-animation to create immersive education
Once learners have seen a starfish, a pipefish or a blue mussel in a digital game, it’s even more fun to go out and find them in real life!
Also, of course Lillebælt has animals that are a little more shy, such as the porpoise or spotted seals,
so seeing them in a digital format will give an idea of the life in Lillebælt, even if the animals are too busy to engage with visitors to the park.
Exploring a new and innovative way for students to learn about the life in Lillebælt.
Our Approach
We animated all plants and animals in 3D with help from the experts at the park.
All textual elements are in both Danish and English and all have been supplemented by audio through Elevenlabs for maximum accessibility.
The app itself was developed in Unity in close collaboration with Naturpark Lillebælt to ensure our models and info was accurate.
Our
Conclusion
We are proud to once again collaborate with Naturpark Lillebælt in developing tools and content for educational purposes.
The intersection of technologies such as VR and AR with education is something we are truly passionate about.
As the project progresses, we will explore how end users adopt and learn to use both AR and VR platforms in a multimedia educational environment.
